Kristina Straface enters her seventh season as an assistant coach on the TCU swimming and diving team.

Prior to joining the Horned Frog coaching ranks, Straface was the head coach and a psychology teacher at Clear Creek High School in League City, Texas, for four years. From 1993-94, she worked as a student assistant coach at her alma mater, University of Texas.

As an undergraduate in Austin, Straface enjoyed a standout career for the Longhorns. She earned collegiate all-America honors seven times and competed on the 1990 and 1991 NCAA Championships squads. In 1991 at the World University Games, she finished second in the 100-meter and third in the 200-meter backstroke. She followed up her performance with a fifth-place showing in the 100-back and ninth place in the 200-back at the 1992 Olympic Trials. She also qualified for the 1988 Olympic Trials.

As a prep, Straface received all-America recognition three times in her hometown of Nederland, Texas.

Straface's husband, Bobby, competed as a four-year letterwinner in basketball and a two-year letter winner in baseball during stints at McNeese and Lamar.

The couple has been married six years and has two daughters, Josie Rose (3) and Samie Anne, born on August 14, 2006.
